What is keratin?
Keratin (protein) is a protein native to the body and is the main building block of your hair, among other things. Naturally and also due to external influences (the weather, blow-drying, curling irons, hair dye, etc.), hair loses its own keratin, causing it to age. Unlike the keratin in the skin, keratin in your hair is no longer replenished. A keratin treatment effectively ensures that your hair is again optimally supplied with this important building block. Your hair becomes strong again, no longer breaks off, gets extra shine and is no longer stiff or frizzy.

Myths
Some shampoo brands claim that their shampoo or conditioner that contains keratin provides the same result... It is also sometimes said that a keratin treatment only makes your hair straighter. All myths! These hair products have no effect. The hair becomes slightly heavier by adding keratin, which makes your hair less curly and thus looks straighter.

Straightening Keratin
It is now possible to style hair permanently without damaging it, or losing body. In this treatment, the hair is permanently styled and the outgrowth should be touched up every 9 to 12 months. The hair is soft, smooth, shiny and frizz-free after the treatment. This treatment is completely free of formaldehyde and therefore not harmful to hair and health. Because of this treatment, you will always have beautiful, healthy and smooth hair.
Crystallization Hair Botox
The Crystallization Hair Botox is a keratin treatment for your hair that provides volume, recovery and shine. The hair after the treatment is soft, smooth, shiny, frizz-free and no longer breaks. A real boost for dry and barren hair. This treatment is perfect for fine hair that needs the aforementioned care, but does not want to weigh hair down. You will enjoy this treatment for two to three months, provided you care for it correctly. You can have the Crystallization Hair Botox done as often as you like.
'Keratineplex'
'Keratineplex', the newest keratin treatment at VanMarco! This is a restorative keratin treatment similar to Olaplex. This treatment repairs the broken sulfur bonds and adds the lost keratin back to the hair. The result is healthier and stronger hair. The hair retains natural volume, has more shine and dries faster. Keratin is a body's own protein, found in hair, nails, skin and teeth, among other things. Due to external influences (climate, blow dryers/styling irons, dyeing, etc.) the hair loses the body's own keratin.
The active ingredients hyaluronic acid and Prodew500® in the MaxLiss keratin treatments have the same effect as the body's own keratin and replenish the lost keratin. The hair is optimally restored by the effective and unique combination.

The standard keratin treatment takes 3 hours. A botox treatment takes about 2 hours. Everything depends on the thickness and length of your hair.
We recommend within two weeks before or after treatment to leave your hair alone for a while and not to color. We also have keratin treatments where you can color directly. In the salon we look at which keratin is right for your hair. It is often first about restoring your hair.
You can simply wash and blow dry your hair after a keratin treatment. You will find that your hair dries faster and is easier to blow dry into shape. It saves a lot of time for you!
No, keratin is not harmful to your hair! At VanMarco, we only work with natural keratin and you can do it as often as you want.
With natural hair (not colored hair), there is no change in your hair color. With colored hair, the color may lighten by half a shade.
A keratin treatment stays in the hair for 4 to 6 months. A Crystallization Hair Botox, also called "keratin light," stays in the hair for 3 to 4 months. Everything depends on your proper care which allows you to enjoy your keratin treatment even longer. We will gladly explain all this to you during your keratin treatment.
Keratin you may do as many times as you want. VanMarco's keratin treatments are natural-based, using the body's own proteins/keratin. With each new keratin treatment, you accumulate keratin in your hair.
As a rule, we often recommend Botox for thin, brittle and lifeless hair. It makes your hair slightly thicker, shinier, stronger and does not cause loss of volume.
